I am very pleased with the result and can't wait to see it finished in the flesh.

Been back down to Sunny Dawlish when ever I go down there its always rains. Chris blames me for bringing it with me.
Started to fit the propex heater, Chris said he was terrified drilling holes in the floor of Dani in case he made a mistake.
The propex heater I'm using is a gas and a 240v one so if I'm using a hook up in a campsite I won't be using up my gas and I'll been using electric that I've already payed for.

Chris is waiting for the parts which I've order off of T2 customs, The Propex heater goes through the heating pipes of the heat exchanger and goes to the windscreen. It's also got a blower to push the heat up faster to demisted the screen easier.

I've also got a timer fitted to the propex heater so I can defrost a frozen screen and heat up the camper before I go to work in the mornings. Saves freezing my bollocks off scraping the ice off and trying to drive when the screen refreezes again before the heat from the heat exchanger defreezes it again.

Chris has had some panels made up to cover up the pillars in the back

IMG_0003-6.jpg

IMG_0004-5.jpg

They are not fitted yet but they will bend into shape when fitted properly.
Also had Dani's American reg fixed in place.

IMG_0007-4.jpg

The top box for the side unit has been started. Chris has got to make a curved edge by the sliding door to go with the bottom unit.

IMG_0008-4.jpg

And also cut a hatch for the bottom unit.

IMG_0009-4.jpg

That's all to report for the moment, Gas pipes are to be fitted next for the heater and hob.

Thanks for all your encouraging comments, please keep them coming.

The paint from bare metal goes something like this:

2 coats 2K epoxy primer
Polyester filler and knifing stopper as required
4-8 coats 2K acrylic high-build primer (mostly sanded off!)
3-4 coats red 1K solvent basecoat
3 coats 2K acrylic lacquer
Hand flat with 1500
Machine sand with 2500 soft pad
Coarse compound
Fine compound
Finishing glaze
Polymer wax

Thanks Andy for your kind comments,
I just looked at your web page of Scarlet, I used to own a British early bay, people told me to get a American one but ignored them, plus my misses wasn't sure about driving a LHD.
Engine caught fire 10 miles down the road of buying her luckily manage to stop it spreading.
I ended up spending my money on keeping her going then buying nice things for her.
So I sold her and bought an American one, best thing I've done.
I take my hat off to you guys saving the British ones. The time and the patience you guys have.

Keep up the GOOD WORK :rocknroll:

Haven't been down to Dawlish this week, had an email from Chris to say he didn't want to fit the heater until all the parts from T2 Customs arrived. And Said he glad he did as the propex heater will have to be fitted near the back of Dani and not near the front as where I wanted it. So nothing has really progressed. Steve is going to fit the heating pipe work on Monday if all things go well,as he has a ramp to make it easier to fit.

Here's a diagram of how the heating is fitted.

Went to see Dani yesterday, heating has been fitted and they found out they could put the Propex heater where I wanted in the first place, which is good news.

Left to do on the heating and the cooker is to house the gas cylinder in a metal box, gas pipes and electrics.

The panel on the front of the seat behind the bulkhead needs the hatch to be cut out to get the gas bottle out.

John has finished painting the table, very impressed with it. You should take a look at his Facebook and website page Killerpaints, some of the art work he has done is amazing.
