There were full sets for sale for £180 at Vanfest and Slough, I think it was The Split Van Oval Bug Centre but I could be wrong.

Or speak to any of the Yanks on here as they seem to be able to get OG sets at a reasonable price. Windsurfer and me manged to get sets for about £150 including delivery and taxes.

Evam has a set for 150 euros

my above post was for all belt trim, and bumper trims and front grille trim...not even my sale but thought it was a bargain so mentioned it ;) but like jon says ask ib-bus ;)

thanks for replys everyone.

ive got some gen stuff on at the mo but thought id try and get some shinney stuff  ive spent hours on mine trying to bring it back up to good but theres a few bits that let it down.so is the c&c stuff no good?has any one fitted any?my idea was get some new for say £230 then sell my old stuff to recoupe some cash, but if the new stuff is ***** i might stick with what ive got.

unfortunatley, gone are the days where "oem german quality" quaranted it was good stuff

there was a few sets from a seller recently on here november/december I think was tempted toget another set myself as the price was so good

Pomona Swapmeet £10 :)

You won't win any friends like that Clem.....

Scott is right the repro trim is not fantastic but a lot easier than rubbing through the og coating to polish the og metal, but if you ask Clyde he will tell you it can be done.

Matt Keene's offer sounds like an absolute bargain if it is in good condition, which it normally is.

I know ;)

The beauty of unrestored vans is just giving stuff like trim a wipe over and it 'blending in' :) I 'think' to refinish an og set, you have to remove the coating, have it straightened, re-polish and then re-anodized. Sounds dearer than buying a good repro set, really.

£400 for a set of belt line, bumber trims and grille is darn good vfm, I agree.

Be careful mate, repro stuff is poor fit and wrong moulding at front, just had set stainless delivered from K & K fantastic quality but cost 370 euros !!!!!!Ya takes ya chances our kid ..... ;)

please could someone give me the contact details for Matt Keene? phone or website or something.

I've got a set of trim on order from C&C, but might see if his would be better.

Anyone fitted the C&C trim?

spent an hour polishing 1 piece up today, its doable but not sure i can be arsed  i recon your looking at a few days work to get it all mint.

so im also interested in the c&c stuf and wouldent mind talking to someone thats fitted it.dare i say it :| is it really that bad?

get some propper polishing mops.....£10-£15 ;)

If you just want to remove the discolouration and leave the anodeising they take minutes to come up lovely.....

...if your removing the whole lot and going for the bare polished metal :msn4: look then it is lots of time and very messy  .....

...I have a og complete set that needs a polish...let me know the lengths of your bad bits, i will check this set/take pictures etc. then you can see if the ones on this set are any better.... :?

OG cleans up nice without to much trouble. I did mine about 2 years ago and if the "experts" are to be belived it will be all tarnished and need re doing by now. The reality is ive never removed it since fitting it and it only gets the same wash that the van gets and it still looks spot on. I never re anodized it, just mirror ploished and fitted it.
Maybe the people who say it wont stay polished have never done it.
I know prices are always on the up and bargins are hard to find these days but i got mine on US ebay for £60 delivered and it came with a couple of spare bits and 2 of the later arrow shaped bits that fit later buses (which i moved on to recoup some of my outlay)
Polishing mops and compounds work wonders. Try your local motorbike shop if you cant find any.
