ive got a full polishing kit and it does come up with it, like new,but it needs all the laquer removing.i looked like a coalman

i also got a bargain with it,was only£30 but my thinking was i could easy shift my old stuff for £100 then buy some new stuff.this way ive only had to pay £130 for new stuff and havent got to do all the hard work

if i knew for sure the c&cstuff really is ****, then im going to have some polishing to do.but would like to avoid it if possible.

thanks for the offer mjknight but mines workable if i can be botherd

Check your local polishing shop mate. I got a set polished for a friend for £20 at my local place but he as now relocated to New Zealand so no longer available. I was gutted when he left. He polished me a set of Rivieras for £100.

OG cleans up nice without to much trouble. I did mine about 2 years ago and if the "experts" are to be belived it will be all tarnished and need re doing by now. The reality is ive never removed it since fitting it and it only gets the same wash that the van gets and it still looks spot on. I never re anodized it, just mirror ploished and fitted it.
Maybe the people who say it wont stay polished have never done it.

I posted what I did after reading about it, probably on the samba  Im no expert

Good to know its not that involved a job after all. Yours always shines well

you've no idea how cheap that is!, cheapest quote i can get for polishing a set of cookie cutters £280.

Dont remind me, hes polishing down under now  and ive had to buy some mops myself. Only found him 6 months before he went or i would have had everything done at that sort of price.

so the procedure for og trim is....?

1. Strip lacquer

2. Polish it back

2. Re lacquer? or anodize?

wouldn't anodising the trim make it very dull

Ive seen some powercoating that puts a really shiny metallic finish on like this...

these are powder coated front forks
