Get yourself a copy of this http://www.volkswagencamper.co.uk/shop/westfalia-special-collectors-edition" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I used it for reference when fitting my Berlin interior.

Also this is a great reference http://www.amazon.co.uk/Transporter-Microbus-Specification-Guide-1967-1979/dp/1847974805/ref=pd_sim_14_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0A3956FG264TKDT5PY5R" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Afaik mustard was the only option for interior. All earlybay westies have the spare wheel in the back, non were delux from the factory, all USA destined busses had opening vent side windows and padded dashes, with over-riders.

Mine for example is now a Berlin, delux, Chevy hybrid :lol:

Have you checked the chassis number/m code information?

As Clem and others have pointed out all the Westies I have ever seen have had Mustard Interior and thats the standard colour for an early bay. Deluxe trim was never an option on a westy as theres no seperate code for the trim and the shells were sent as striped down items to the westy factory were the bed, roof etc were fitted.

With regards to colours yes Montana Red is only available on 69 & 70 MY buses, when 71MY (August 1970) came in it changed to Chianti Red and then that was only used on 71 & 72 MY.

My SA westy has the spare tyre under front seat. Obviously not walk thru either. RHD

This is great info. Thanks so much for clarifying Graham. :)

brianj74 any chance of a pic how your spare wheel fits under the seat
Mines a non walk thru but theres no way i can squeeze a full size spare in there

Full size spare fits easily under the seat in a non walk through as long as it's factory. You have to remove the passenger seat completely to get the wheel in and out.

Early Westys didn't come with over riders as standard as someone mentioned.
Every thing was an option including I think a wheel mounted on the front panel if you so wished.
All the Deluxe items could be ordered from new if you so wished as could any parts that where available at the time.
I imagine deluxe trim may have been fitted to some dealer specials as a way of selling more than the dealer down the road.
