Tried to fit a new one today a status vw one and the lid wont close now, is there adjustment in the lid, screws on mine look rusted in.

The van did not have one fitted so i thought that i would treat it to one.

Try slamming the lid, the only way to adjust the catch is by moving the latch plate attached to the apron panel. Have you got the seal hooked under the lip all round?

Put a status one in my 69 bay panel van recently fitted a treat as said make sure its in the metal lip round edge , then a good slam

Mine is a status one, tucked under the lipbut just seems to stick out at the top too far.
Will have another go in the week. Think the seal looks better hung up in the garage than in the van.

Not sure if Im remembering this correctly, but is the seal section different top to bottom, the valance channel has no lip, is it possible you have the seal up side down?

the top is the harder bit to put in just keep pushing it mate it will go in the end ;)
