Engine Bulkhead

Hi, just wondering why the engine bulkhead is painted grey on all buses, I am in the process of spraying the engine bay and wondering if I should spray the bulkhead aswell :|

Leave it grey, if you examine under your bus too, under all that undearseal, the chassis is grey too

Yeah but why is it painted grey and not the body colour ? VW must have had a reason I suppose ?

It may have been to save money vw were big on things like that, having said that i'm only presuming i'm no expert :?

They were indeed grey though many of them later got sprayed with body colour or gloss during their life because the original grey matt finish was less resistant to damage and corrosion.
