Hi all,

My van doesn't have a thermostat. Do the cooling flaps spring to the fully open position or do I need to fix the control in the opposite position.
I'm concerned the van may be running hot but not sure on how the flaps work without the thermostat.
Thanks in anticipation,
Harvey

If the thermostat is removed and the flaps/bar are still in place with the spring, they will be in the open position.

Get a torch and have a look behind the fan shroud below the fan. You should see a flat bar linking the two flaps either side of the engine and a spring attached to the bar and fan shroud.

Without the spring the flaps would most likely stay closed.

Hope that helps
