Engines run in, tappets need doing, how hard is that?

I have a friend who's engine was rebuilt by Laurie, he's done the required amount of miles and now needs to change the oil and reset the tappets, as (one day) I am hoping to get that with mine, I was wondering if someone could tell me how to do it

I think it is all pretty easy but then I thought the resto would be lol

Any advice chaps?

Buy a Haynes manual and read the bit about adjusting the tappets - page 38 para 34
