My speedo cable broke. After having a check I realised it was the cable that broke. Cable now replaced, but unfortunately the speedo still not working. No kinks in the cable, the cir-clip in place at the wheel end. Have unscrewed and screwed back the cable into the back of the speedo. But the speedo still doesn't work. Could the cable, at the time of failure have caused a fault in the speedo dial. Or am I lacking strength in screwing this cable back in. It feels total screwed in place and secure.
Anyone experienced anything similar?

Have you checked the other end? If you jack the front up and spin the left wheel, you should be able to see the cable spin with the wheel. Quite often the square section on the grease cap rounds, leaving the speedo not working. :)

You shouldn't need much force to get the speedo end in. Just need to make sure the square section is engaged in the speedo drive properly. :)
