...and how many times are you involved in a head on collision and you aren't actually turning your steering wheel to avoid it?

The only time I've gone into something I was steering like mad to avoid trashing the nose and both front wings on my old Karmann Ghia (just lost the one wing at the end of it  ). Bit older now so perhaps injury would be more in my mind - in the bay I'd probably be trying to roll it than go head on into anything!

I guess with 3 spokes you are increasing your chances of the wheel being in the wrong position mind you, but it looks sweet.

So it's gonna snap rather than bend like a stock wheel?

A moot point really as a crash that would do that would knacker either wheel, and most likely the driver.

The point I was making was I'm certain vw designed the steering wheels with 2 horizontal spokes for a reason?

But each to their own, looks nice though.

Sorry mate, wasn't trying to be narky or anythin. :)

Just so you know I'm not some health and safety freak, its just I remember seeing these photos on vzi a while back and it made me rethink fitting an aftermarket wheel.

Apparently no broken bones, but the shire horse that walked out in front of the van wasn't feeling too frisky afterwards.

Holly Shizzle! looks like they were cutout!

It does show that the bus aint as weakup front as some seem to think... ...
Yeah, the front panel was a right mess but thats to be expected as there is no strength there. At least they were lucky enough have a van that had some nice solid chassis legs.
Still tempted to strap some roo bars to the front of mine.
