I've been meaning to put one of the fire systems in the van and found the May 2007 C&C with the fireflex article.

Trouble is I can't find anything on the internet as to how to buy.

Searching for the other systemt mentioned, Firetec, was not much better.

What do people here have fitted? If I want to buy and fit asap where do I go?

is £135 a good price? it seems steep?

I thought these systems were just an extinguisher attached to a temperature sensitive hose that melts at a certain temp and releases the foam? or is it more complicated than that?

Just paid £159 so that's a good price!

Have had too many disasters over the last couple of weeks so I am not taking chances any more whatever the cost.

Thats exactly all it is but thats the going rate to be honest. I like the fact that he will give discount on bulk purchases (or at least I would if I had the dosh), If i could find another 19 peeps then thats a 40% reduction £81 :D

Just a quick update on this thread.

I eventually found that Coolair stock Fireflex and collected one this morning, £160 for the larger bottle - didn't see any point in cutting back at this point!

I fitted the unit very quickly, maybe 45 minutes - with the following observations...

the C&C article clearly uses the smaller bottle, which is much easier to fit in. The large upright just about squeezes in just inside the engine bay on the left but someone else may prefer to check the flat instead of upright unit.

not enough cable ties provided, wish I'd followed slammedkustom's advice and got a box. That's tomorrow's job before I drive it!

no problem fitting at all - the tube loops easily and I get the feeling that the whole engine bay is covered. Well worth the money I'd say.
