ive got a 70 westy and i want to fit another 3 point belt in the back so ive got rid of the wardrobe, im going to make a full width RnR bed and add another 3 point belt however theres no anchor nut fitted below the window to fit the inertia reel like the other side just a hole.

Ive bought a seatbelt nutplate. whats the general vibe for fitting this? can i just get it welded over the hole? but diesnt that defeat the point of having the plate? im not sure how to go about this safely? The original nut fitted on the other side doesnt seem to have a reinforcing plate? but im not 100%

ill take some pics to clarify

cheers

The seat belt mounting plates are generally used for the anchors at the bottom (lap)
points. The point where you mount the inertia reel at the back is a captive nut in part
of the 'superstructure' IIRC. I guess then that you can just weld in the nut, BUT this will need
to be done neatly and be strong. Also the nut itself is a unusual thread (not metric) I think.
