FSOL great memories, but shocking dress sense at the time! if the fashion police had caught up with me i wouldve eaten more porridge than the three bears

At tender age of 16-17 at the time I really digged KLF:White Room and Prodigy's first Experience album. Wonder if these were too 'commercial' for real ravers? FSOL and the ORB was played alot on MTVe dance specials too, but they were a bit too ambient for me. Good old times! On the new Prodigy album I can hear clear connections to that era. Some song reminded me of Wind It Up.

excellent thread! brings back a few memories...
here's my collection - have stopped buying records now and haven't got all vinyl listed not any cd's.
http://www.discogs.com/collection?user=m_ginty
got a fair bit of FSOL and SoP Haunted Dancefloor on 12" somewhere.
Also loved the Electro series...If you ever fancy getting them on mp3 let me know as I'd love to get them onto a cd!

One other website I found was a bloke who had recorded pretty much every Essential Selection (anyone remember the days BEFORE radio 1 got involved !!) Got a cracking mix of Chemical Brothers March '95 - think that was just afer they changed from Dust Brothers.
Anyway, past me bedtime now ...how times have changed...

I really love this thread - because i didn´t thought there are more people that love my favourit music.

some of my all time favourites are:

the prodigy - no good
age of love - age of love
nikolai - are you ready to flow
jaydee - plastic dreams
faithless - insomnia
jens - loops and tings
ellen allien - go
ellen allien - stadtkind
marmion - schöneberg

i deejayed for a long time (even sometimes today) and still love electronic music. it all startet with electro for me - i loved the other sounds (before i were in hip hop like run-dmc, public enemy, biz marky,....) and then there were africa bambaata, dynamix 2, even dr.dre did some real nice stuff.
And then techno grew up here in germany - and i did my part to spread it here in my hometown and around. we made parties - and went to all parties we could reach (omg this is was 16 years ago) - we were driving to berlin (350km) to go to the famous "tresor". oh i love these memories! i still love to listen to my vinyls (2500-3000 records).
but then came a time when techno got to big - and everybody tried to be cooler than the other - this sucked so much that i canceled and stopped deejaying. but still listend to underground sounds. todays i thing it feels like it´s getting better again. and there is a nice scene around. it´s more like in the beginnig - and i love this.
someone might think i´m stoopid - but the people that were around the in the old scene would understand what i mean - i think so.

greetings alex

I love some of the German stuff 8) , current favourites are Kruder & Dorfmeister. They have a great album of remixes in the DJ-Kicks series and the K&D sessions are worth a listen as well.
I love how this thread is expanding like some weird family tree branching of in all kinds of directions.
