Just a few words and pics to my latest aircooled love

Bought it at Mantorp Sweden 08 and had very little welding and work done to it.
Service theme deviced with my fellow nuts'n'bolt mate Danborn ..(orange 68 on here too)

Wheels are early Volvo with center cut out and special bolts done up.
Front beam made adjustable and rear lowered and also cut into the plates.

Engine straight 1500 Single port but am currently installing a 2165ccm into it.
Just for a couple of weeks testing and so on.
After that its winter-work-time and the plans are more or less .. and loosely ...
and in no order what so ever

New interior
new stereo custommade to look old ..
CU 6 rib 2.0 Gearbox
2165ccm type 1 being shined up somewhat and J-pipes changed to heather boxes
Drop spindles with Zero -offset and just perhaps discbrakes in front.
Straightening out the right rear corner and bumper.
Changing quite a few rubber seals..
Welding in a new support at the front gearbox mount.

And tonnes of other cool and funne bits too..

Pics .....

See yaa, Peter

And these cool pictures by RawFormat - Paul & Helene.

Nice bus, and some excellent pictures.

Cool Bus man glad you joined here aswell as yor Orange bus mate 8)

love the rims mate. they look fantastic. i love the effort of trying something a little different with wheels. polishing, detailing, adapting, banding, nothing like a set of one offs to know that no one else has a bus that looks the same as yours

Thanks everybody .... thought it would be cool to join here and get to meet some of those i just might meet from now on at Spa , Mantorp or in the UK ....
Only been on the Aircooled scene nnow for 2-2,5 years but have been through the usual amount of projects and drivers..

Total of 4 beetles , 2 buses and one 181 thing... and the Porsche , which was from Brighton area located at Nick Moss' place. And now up for sale.

I'll start adding a bit more soon but just a loose plan for the bus is as folows..

2165 engine ... now testfitted and runs like a mad dog ..
6rib CU box ... to be put in..
Dropspindles zerooffset ...
brakes and so to go through
Keeping the cool cool Volvo rims ..

And so on ....

Later guys n girls
Yours truly

Peter

Great images,

for the nerds out there

I have been having a play around in photoshop and you can actually get a similar effect if you use the 'High Pass' Filter...

When it comes to pics , photoshop are absolutely your friend..
I believe that its just one of the things that Paul & Helene does to them ..

There's a photo shoot on its way for Total911 mag with Danborn and i and a bunch of porsches , the bus and lots more cool stuff
So wait and see what they come up with ... LOL

Se ya

From wich model of Volvo do your rims come?
I was looking at the size from those rims. Later Volvo's run 4x108 or 5 x108. How did you do that? Did you used adaptors?
Like the look of your EB a lott!!

look at the wheels...

LOOK AT THE WHEELS

they look like they're still 5 on 205 to me so they've had the centre removed (as stated in the original post) and then what's left of the rim's been re-drilled to early bay PCD... or am i over-simplifying things  they look ace whatever's been done to them 8)

They are Wolfrace wheels, aren't they? They look awesome this way! 8)

Airtime, i don't know if the rims are Wolfrace.
They justed to be putt on Volvo Amazone, Duett and P1800S.
