Just a question, does the backrest attach to the base and if how? Do you have photos? Thanks
Hi,

I'm 99% sure that the backrest does not attach to the base of the seat - as if it was it wouldn't allow the seats to be unfolded into the "bed" position.

I did google for fitting instructions but can't find anything :(

I'll see if I have any older pics of when the seat was fitted in my bus.

Thank you,

Mike

Quick Z-bed bracket question...

How does the seat back rest stay flat and level when in the bed position?
From memory we had to put a wooden batten across to support the top end of the seat when we had a set a few years ago

Yeah, as Graham said I had a wooden batten fixed to the bus for it to rest upon.

Anybody got any original instructions - mine went South long ago?

Thanks @mcvw @Graham L - I'll look to do that.

@mcvw Instructions;
Found a few posts on the samba forum (includes a youtube of a guy fitting them in a split) or there was also an article way back in Volksworld/Camper& Bus fitting them in an early bay.

Also after looking on the samba, it looks like the US originals (maybe not the UK re-make's) came with a small black L shaped(?) metal slotted bracket to support the back seat;
Mine didn't come with this though.
