Have been running in my engine for a month now...around 200 miles. Mortified to find an oil leak somewhere near the back...not what you expect from an all new engine.

Had to drop it out to see...wiped it all clean came back after an hour and you can see the drip coming from a pin/ dowel on the rear mounting face near the oil pressure valve.
If that's what I got after an hour out of the van, no wonder it was dripping!

Has anyone seen this before?

Have emailed supplier so let's see what happens next.

Gutted - all booked up for Easter camping and sandown show.

Personally, if you haven't got too much of a trip to make, I'd slap a bit of Hermetite/Hylomar on it, go to the show and sort it after the weekend.
Thats not a leak, thats barely a dribble!

But yeah, being brand new, I'd be upset if it was dribbling so soon.

It's still a very minimal leak, like old_Neil said above.. Stick some sealant over it for noe if there's no time to get the engine builder or supplier to sort it out. My gearbox leaks more oil than that and there's no pressure in that..

You know what they say about old motors...

..if there ain't no oil under it, there ain't no oil in it!

Just been looking at an engine I am building and that leak seems to to coming from an oil gallery plug.I dont think you can blame the engine builder for this leak as the plug is put in when case was manufactured although I am sure he will fix it by drilling it out and putting a screw in plug. Seems strange but these things happen.

I succesfully got out my leaking metal plug and put in the "push-in" style plug sold by many vendors.

Company have offered to collect fix and return unit. Apparently will remove plug, tap and fit screw in replacement.
Annoying but progress.
