Front arch to be pillar gap,, to weld or not to weld?

Need some advice, just welded up my front arch and b pillar but looking at other the gap where the back of the arch and b pillar sit together is sitting at about 1 mm, other seem flush to each other.. do I weld down the gap and make a small indent between the two or do I try and use a dolly and hammer to get the gap smaller and leave it?

Any help would be great, or pics of how others have done it

Let seam sealer be your friend, use a decent one and run it down the joint , force it in with a small tool and force some more in then give it a damp smooth to finish it, had a good result using cling film too.
