Hi all well my torsion arms have been banging like a set of drums so went to change them all along with needle bearings, But upon taking them all out, one of the ends had scrapes along the edge in a copper colour I believe this to be the dreaded inner Bakelite bush thingy ma Bob, no one sells this?, only for a beetle, mines a 70 bay so that's out of the question, some places sell the red urethane ones, so are they what is to be used now.
Also has anyone ever taken the god dam bush out, as I was thinking of using some kind of contraption with threaded bar etc...
Any help / info would be great....

I did take some out once it was tricky as they are quite tight from memory - I have a old beam so could in theory get a spare but of course I have no idea of the mileage or condition

you may find that just doing the needle bearings enough to fix the issue as the internal bushes are there just for additional support, but the bearings and the torsions act as a unit...
