Having just trial fitted the front doors I have found that there is an 11mm gap between the front panel and the door, all other gaps all round are 3\4mm..should all gaps be the same all around the front doors?
The front has had new chassis legs, new front panel, new dog legs etc but not done myself...also to note that the front chassic legs are 40mm short of touching the front panel?
Ive brought a project and im new to it all so im learning as I go

Trying to add pics taken on android phone but saying file is too large? Only doing one pic? I have reduced the resolution to min but a pic is still 100kb to big?

Hi bud.

The gap at the front of mine is larger than the other 3 faces of the door.

I noticed this as when I refitted them.

My A pillars havent been touched. The doors are replacements but original ..

Unless my doors are wrong I would say from your picture that it looked about the same as mine.

Hope that helps.

Hilly

Bit of further investigation and it looks to me that the front panel is 20mm to low and with this raised up should in turn close the gap up more!? afraid cant put any pics up at mo

Is that an NOS arch I spy? Would be really interested in seeing some more pics of how you welded it to the B post, if you wouldn't mind. Will be doing my RHS NOS arch soon and don't want to cock it up!

I also found this to be true. Maybe earlier doors were slightly smaller as I can't get a smaller gap down the front shut line anymore

I was going to ask if it was a new front clip (late bay conversion). A new front clip was on the one I bought, it was part restored. Had a few issues around the front air vent because it wasn't installed perfectly.

Typically the gap is around 5mm at the top and 7mm at the bottom. This is with paint. On bare metal it could easily measure a couple of mm more.

Yes its a new converted late bay, I think like most of the work previously carried out it will have to been taken back off so I can see whats going on? strange thing is the air vent is sitting perfectly yet the the curved part of panel below the window is 20mm lower than the curved piece on the door so they clearly do not match up?
