front to rear heater pipe in chassis

My pipe is missing, so not sure what it used to look like, I am assuming it was steel, I see heritage do one, just wondering if there are any other alternative materials that can be used to make it more efficient for conducting heat.

I got a replacement one from Schofields - very heavy guage steel - which I guess is good.

If you want to measure the diameter of the pipe as I have a brand new one that I'm not going to be using now, will be off to the VO WO show this weekend

Also, VW put a lagging around the pipe for insulation

Mine fell off due to severe corrosion.
Had an off cut of gutter downpipe. Exact size. Cleaned up the chassis crossmembers. Slipped in a treat. Mastic to seal. Job done......

try getting a stainless tube then no worries about corrosion

would `ve thought that any steel merchants would supply steel,stainless or ally cheaper than the vw suppliers
