Just got my van out of winter storage. Notice the fuel gage was stuck on empty even though i knew the tank was a third full. Thinking the float may be stuck I put some more fuel in but still on on empty, but driving the van around a bend the gage needle moves to half full before going back to empty. Any ideas to fix?

Sounds like your float might not be, or a bit seized

Unplug the sender and touch it to earth, will tell you where your problem lies (sender or gauge)

Easier said than done unless your bumper/valence/engine/firewall and fuel tank are removed!

I tested my gauge initally through removing the heater control levers/steering wheel/speedo cable and dash binnacle to check if that was ok, and then without totally disassembling the bus I cut a small access hatch just above the sender to install a new VDO item - which cured the issue.
