Hello,
I'm on my third fuel gauge for my bus, the latest one I bought is different to my old one, it didn't have the little VDO box on it, so I ran the power supply through another VDO box (regulator possibly?) I had lying around as I didn't want to melt the gauge like I did last time I 'tested' one.
Anyway when I turn the ignition on the fuel gauge moves about 2mm but more towards empty than when the ignition is off. There is definitely fuel in the tank btw.
Is there a reason for that? Could it just be a case of the wires being the wrong way round or could it be a knackered sender? I did test the sender when the engine was out, and I thought I proved it worked, but mayeb not.
Also my oil pressire light has packed in, it worked fine before I took my engine out, but now it's back in it's stopped coming on briefly when I turn ignition key. I've replaced the bulb in the dash and tried a new sender but no joy.
Can anyone help, I'm no expert with electrics.
Thanks,
Ollie
