Fuel-line

I was wondering :?: if you disconnect the rubber fuel line from the steal line that starts on the bottom of the tank, should there be fuel running out?
Because there isn't coming any fuel out, but the engine runs. Is this normal?

Assuming you have fuel in the tank, it should flow out rapidly. Take the filler cap off and try again, you may have a blocked tank breather. No air in equals no fuel out.

Alright i'll try that . So it's possible that the engine runs but there is no fuel running out :?: Meaning the fuel just comes out when the engine is running and the fuelpomp is working.
And could this be a reason that the engine doesn't pull as good as it should :?: :?:

Yeah the pump will be working bloody hard if that is the case, and you'll get a deffinate release of pressure when you open the filler neck.... managed to crumple two tanks last year for that reason before the garage would listen to me (luckily it was a works van).....
