I fear my gearbox on my Bay Window is nearing the end of its natural life. What is the view out there to refurbish my existing gearbox of buy a refurbished unit as a replacement? Also I see Just Kampers have a unit for £725.00 and a Vega recon unit for £990.00. Is the Vega box really worth paying another £265.00? Does anybody know a good VW Gearbox specialist near to Brighton I can speak to? Thanks Andy

VW Heritage are only just up the road.

Speak to Alex, there, he will help

As said if you want your reconditioned speak with Pete @ Cogbox,

Or if you want a direct replacement ro even an upgrade off the shelf you can always speak with us here.

Our units come from Rancho who are one of the best known gearbox companies in the world.

Your earlybay 5% discount also in non conditional so you can use it even on big ticket items as a gearbox ;)

Synchro has gone on 2nd gear, very noisy between 1st 2nd and 3rd gear but all smooth and quiet in 4th. 3 people have commented the noise if coming from the diff most likely. Trouble is if I send away to be looked at it will cost me £150 just to strip it down and if it is knackered I have just wasted £200 when I could have gone for a straight recon swap. Managed to get a recon swap unit for £690.00
