Gene berg dipstick WANTED

Does anyone have a decent gene berg temperature dipstick for sale? Am I correct in saying these are no longer available to buy new?

You have two options really, I know Crewcab on here had one to sell a few months ago. if not savemybug.com are selling them now, it's the same product, I think Gene Berg were basically a middle man and now the manufacturer is selling them direct. With the postage from the US It'll be cheaper getting crewcab's one though!

Well to buy one and have it posted to the uk would cost roughly £38
What would you say would be an acceptable price to pay for each dipstick including postage to your door? (If they do a better price for a bulk buy that is)

Dunno, never had/seen/used either of them. Where do you get these 'standard temp dipsticks' from? Might be better off buying on of those.

If your going to do it you want to make a few quid on each one for the hassle.You may get hit with vat and duty.Royal mail add £18 handling fee if pulled by customs.You would have to work out the cost when in your hand.£25 quid each would be a good price I reckon.I got a indicator relay and switch off the Samba and they add vat to the shipping price too.I had 2 packages one I got hit for the other I never.Pot luck really.
On there site if you order more the shipping does not rise significantly which makes them pricey just ordering one.23 dollars to post one 35 dollars for 10.
As regards to standard dipstick senders these are unique as they are not wired to a gauge.

Cheers for that mate,I was thinking £25ish but never really thought about the vat and other potential costs. Ill see what price they come back with before I throw a price out there, might not be worth it at all.

Thats a different thing have a look at savemybug(dotcom)You are right about the price though JK are expensive for most stuff.

Hi!

I have a savemybug.com dipstick, it simplicity itself, just replace your dipstick with the new one, one wire to the oil pressure sender, use the supplied connector to fit the original sender wire to this, and use your bus as normal. I can see that if you were clever, you could rig up another light, say a bright LED off the same wire somewhere on your dash, but t works fine on the stock oil light, just depends on how bright it is.

I keep my dipstick fitted on the engine roof with a very strong small magnet, so it's to hand, and i can still use it to check the oil level, but you could always measure and make a mark on the savemybug one.

There is a wire rod at the top of the unit which rotates with temperature, it is on a spring internally in the tube, so as the engine oil gets hot, it rotates around - if the oil gets too hot, it'll touch the earth point, causing the oil light to flicker, and then stay on if the temperature continues to rise, simple and effective, no other mods needed, no gauges, no wiring, reliable and cheap.

Great customer service, i had a little problem with mine, the screw fixing had moved, it may well have been me, (it is loctighted) anyway, he offered to fix mine or send a replacement, asked for mine back so he could check it out, he sent a brand new one out no questions asked, kept me informed all the way. You can calibrate it yourself, but he was happy for me to send it back.
