Are Halfords professional ratchet spanners any good? I want a set and they are on offer. I ask as cheaper ones have a lot of play and are useless in a tight spot

I've had mine for years, and old socket set about 20-30 years lifetime guarantee still good, 1 8mm spanner replaced free.

Yeah, I got the ratchet ring one end and adjustable angle with an open ender the other end. I haven`t broken one yet :p

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,And I have been trying

Halfords have the set for £40.00. Expensive for me as all my spanners so far have been off the market for a couple of quid. :msn4: or from my brothers tool box :msn4: :msn4:

As said very good tools, and if they are from their professional range they have a lifetime guarantee so they will replace any broken tools

Also had some for years with no problems.

These are als worth getting for the price. https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thur-13-aug/product-detail/ps/p/5-piece-ratchet-wrench-set-7/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The Halfors Pro stuff is very good. Worth noting that technically the ratchets aren't covered by the lifetime warranty as moving parts are excluded ;)

Had my set about 15 years and no issues at all, the only thing it could do with is some deeper sockets for the bigger sizes.

Had a few bits and pieces replaced unter the lifetime warrantee including all 3 ratchets and a few of the screwdrives \ hex bits, officially you need to show them the reciept of purchase too but often overlooked.

Buy them dude, I've been buying Halfords tools for over 20 years now. I've got loads of stuff and I've only ever broken one socket, which was replaced and a breaker bar (at the socket end) I returned it and got my money back as they had none left.

I've got ratchets, sockets, ratchet spanners, stubby spanners, long spanners, screwdrivers and a roll cab.

They're well worth the money.

Get a Halfords trade card

There crap for non car stuff but actually ok for tools, general nick nacks

Easy to blag one, just make a fake letterhead/invoice for a made up car business, they never check

*I do not condone this kind of action* :D

some things you don't get much off, other things can be as much as 50% like bulbs etc.

Doesn't include bikes/sat navs etc

I got a set had them years great spanners and they get used everyday.

Trade card just gives you trade price - if somethings in the sale it can sometimes make it more expensive!

The ratchet spanners are amazing, I've had a set about 5 years and they're still spot on!
