Hope this finds everyone well. Quick question about handbrake cables.

Handbrake Cable, 3443mm, Bus / Camper 68-71 Are these the correct ones?
Also there is no bow(levelling plate) on the base of the handbrake, is this right?
J reg. 1971 Dormobile Build date January 1971.

Help greatly appreciated.

I discovered this recently when setting up my brakes. Correct, there is no levelling plate and the 2 cables are attached directly to the bottom of the leaver at floor level.

See my post...

The year is right, but I think there are 2 different ones...

Hi Jonathon, do you have two places for cables on the bottom of your hand brake leaver? If so, release them totally then adjust your rear shoes until they actually stick then back them off a tad but the cables need to have no resistance in them at all and the adjuster nuts need to be slack, then adjust your cables on the handbrake lever base.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,bit of assembly paste on the exposed cable helps

Thanks Ozzie, it's not the method that's a problem.
Want to buy new cables, just making sure I get the correct ones.

Thanks Sparky, I would of taken it off but not reachable just now, and Cool Air only had 2 left so just managed to get them in time.

Thanks everyone else, hoped you enjoyed the spelling games.
Do keep well. Stay virus free.

So , bought two new cables from Cool Air as per the part number and they duly arrived in perfect time.
Couple of days off, so back the bus out ,jack up the rear and manage to remove the cable on the driver
side without any hassle. Still fairly greasy from previous owner. :) :) :)
Remove new from bag and start to thread into hole...................wtf.......
As can be seen from the attached picture this is fixed to the cable by machine, and not removable.
Now the one is dirty from my fresh grease and one clean.
Only thing I can think of is that this attachment has to go through the tube also, but all the muck in the tube
is not going to help as it only just goes in.

Pardon the downside up image forgot to turn it before sending.

Anybody have any ideas????????????????????? And I am in no way pointing fingers at anyone as they are the
correct length, and exactly what I ordered.

All help appreciated. Stay well and virus free.
