What heating systems have you go in your vans?

Can they be used when driving or just camping?

What options do i have if considering heating systems?

Any bad/good experiences with van heating.

Help.

Cheers.

can this be used whilst driving?

Is it easy to fit and are there any consumables?

Can be run when on the move
I purchased mine from Bluebird

Very helpful guy, I'm sure they now sell a complete kit
If you find a propex unit 2nd hand (ebay) you can
send it to Propex & they can refurb it and supply the pipes
heater control etc---don't know how much they charge

they sell returned/refurbed items too......

Got myself an webatso diesel heater though not used/installed it yet.

Assuming it can be used on the move since they use them on boats aswell.

webasto are another type of heater, can be desiel or petrol and can be used on the move, just be carefull not to get a 24v from a truck..

can you rig these propex heaters in to your curent system via a pipe?without any probs?mabee bolted underneath and plumbed straight in to the big centre pipe that runs down the middle of the bus?

In my bus I rigged up the heat exchangers yesterday as I was finding it a bit chilly.

Now I get a nice burning smell at high revs up hills, and after about 20 miles the heat vents on the dashboard are mildly less frosty cold than the rest of the van 8)

Cheers

I think i may go down the propex route.

As a side note i have a westy louvered window in the side of my van which is in two sections?

Does anyone know of a seal kit around to stop the draft and rattling?

I currently have zero heating as I've had my van put back to stock from a watercooled conversion. The conversion ripped out most of the stock heating system, haven't got the van back yet so not sure what if anything is left.

A self-fitted Propex (assuming I can do it) is probably the sensible route out for me, though I will try to refit the standard heating system if resurrectable.
