Hi everyone. Ive been lurking on this forum since i got my westy but now im ready to be more active .
I do however have a few questions and whats better then to ask directly the westy experts of this forum.
A few months ago i got myself a 1970 westy. Since it needs a safety chek before beein road worthy i have been working hard to get it ready so i can at least have a drive in it before winter hits.
First question.
My back up lights werent working. Beeing a mecanic its was not a very complicated diagnostic. Step one, i looked up the fuse and found is was missing. This was an easy fix but there is a small black wire next to it on a crimped terminal but cant for the life of my find were its supposed to go
Question 2. What parts should a carry as a "spare parts" for long distance traveling. Those who are most known for breaking.
Ive been a automotive mecanic for the last 10 years but rarely do volkwagen and even more rare the times i work on aircooled westys. I would also appreciate any advide, tips, recommendations, do and donts of anything westy related.
