Maybe the thread could have been left alone, locked, edited or as it was, deleted ... all true and all hold there own justifications. Either way it has happened now, and to my knowledge, hasnt really affected anyone in a direct or lasting way. As Ive said before the Mod team are just users, and I know we all have full time jobs to do, vans to fix, build and use, families to look after and we might not always have time to spend weeding a thread out that might be better off altogether gone ... Im not complaining or playing the martyr, noone is forced, or paid, to do this, we do it to help the forum run well. All the comments raised over this issue will be taken on board and will no doubt affect the next time such a scenario occurrs.
Finally, this is certainly not about The Late Bay versus Early Bay, there is not, or should certainly not be, any animosity ... if anyone feels that way inclined, I suggest they stick to theyre preffered forum and enjoy it.

I only consider myself a very small minnow in a pond over here, just a guy who one day will own a 68 bay, whereas on the late bay i'm a massive poster and i'm like marmite (love or hate) but even i can see bitching between forums isn't good, we've always had banter but it shouldn't get personal, people have bad days, people make bad calls, but at the end of the day it's just a bloody forum to talk about vans, i'm sad zed got upset - i consider him a good mate, i'm also sad if my posts upset alex/were considered to have been off topic, i need to remember sometimes that the rules on here are a bit stricter than on tlb, i didn't realise some of you go on both sites with different user names though, that's crafty - although with a shit coloured van i doubt i'd be able to hide from you..... whereas your vans are all cream westys :lol:
that's a joke btw, i saw a red one and a blue one once....
for what it's worth i hope this gets sorted without a big fall out, both sites compliment each other and there's never a need to get personal, i remember the chap above with his buddy box idea, i even said good luck to him and showed him a pic of my original westy one, i do recall some less tactful peeps moaning about the cost but didn't realise it got out of hand.

That's where the irony is. The rules here aren't as strict, swearing for example. It's just your members can get away with saying some outrageous comments, sometimes quite nasty and no one bats an eyelid.
We work on mutual respect for members and everyone else.

The mods give there time for free and work hard to keep this place a lovely nice place to be.

The tone of Steve's intial post is exactly why his last thread got deleted in my view. No lesson Learned.

Thanks Steve for publically saying you have no issue with VWH as a company, but as some of the posts in this thread demostrate the damage was already done.

The intial thread was started before you had got in contact with VWH and you then carried on without giving VWH the opertunity of trying to resolve the issue for you.

I believe you (24hrs after you intially PM'd me on here) Spoke with our head of returns and were very happy with the outcome of the disscussion and apolagised for being hasty and being rather rude about the management here.

I agree if there is a reason to flag up a companies bad service or product, it should be done to warn other people and save other heart ache. (Those who know me may remember i served a three month ban from VZi for trying to disscuss the good and the bad about Airspeed Engines) I was jumped on by the mods and suspended from the forum. This was a company that then went under taking customers hard earned with them and leaving lots of warranties useless.

I see no reason to start gripping on a forum about the better and more supportive companies in the scene. (I have if you go through my previous defended suppliers that I don't work for too).

This is my PERSONAL Account and have been an EB member much longer than I have been an employee of VWH!

I saw my position as a way of being able to support EB forum members from within the company and give everyone a name and voice on the phone they would recognise and know. This was a foolish thing to do as all it has done is cause grief for myself and now for Mods on this forum, for which I apolagise to them.

Clem Johnny and the rest of the MOD team have better things to do than read this thread and get slated for donating time and organising a useful resource for us all to enjoy.

Advertisers pay for the running yes, but its certainly not over advertised! you break the rules in some way then it gets pulled. Its not hitler styling its good management and keeps a very informative website going without 4 tons of shite everywhere.

No Mod contact makes my blood boil!!!! Anyone who knows me will know that im helpful and approachable on here or at any show and this has been the case. Ive been doing this for fucking years at my own cost and without a thought for such! I get some 20 PMs a day from forum members and i always try to help and point them in the right direction!

Please feel free to tell me what I personally as a mod am doing wrong, cos i would love to hear it, and you better have a pretty fucking good answer.

Couldn't agree more Alex, I've had my run in with the mods but thats all in the past, this world would be a far sadder place without this site and I think we need to remember that, the mods do what they think is best for the site, its members and its credibility and do it for FREE!!, giving something back to the EB community.

Not sure what to say really. I find this place a great place to be and find it a very helpful friendly place. I think all the Mods do a super job, there are rules, otherwise it would be anarchy. The knowledgable types also give great advice on the Technical and nothing really gets out of hand......well, most of the time.
The fact that Alex is (first and foremost) a member on here and (secondly) works for VWH shouldn't be forgotten. He is not the voice of VWH but merely trying to help us guys out. As he says, it's nice to phone VWH and actually have someone on the other end that you (kinda) know.
If some members on here feel stifled by the rules then, well, it's a free country and the interweb is a big old place, go find somewhere else.
I for one love it here for everything it is and will be. Again big up to the Mods and the sponsors who frequent regularly.
Keep on dubbing brothers and sisters.

Your a fucking star easy :lol: I've been sat here chuckling away reading this, hell its one of the reasons we don't over moderate the site, if you go through the mod logs you'll see its spam blocked, moves (which are a real pain in the arse), deletions of vehicles for sale without following the very few rules set out (and that generally follows a reminder). Threads tend to get deleted as with any forum on any subject on the net if they are offensive (to be honest I like offense but others don't), or libelous (the income generated by our sponsors barely keeps the site alive, a law suit would bury it) , too confrontational well that rarely occurs on here and would tend to be individual posts that get toned down indeed I would tend to post that the OP would moderate themselves. Just because an item is deleted doesn't mean there is an agenda, hell I've accidentally deleted a thread before now.

As it happens yes I do have an SS uniform for pleasure on certain weekends and have both Iron crosses in the Doka windscreen, I also have Swastikas tattooed on me (although there the auspicious and inauspicious and not emblematic of the third reich)..... It doesn't make me a bad person....

check my number, I've been on here since all but day 1 as well. I've met Clem and Araon - top blokes, had great contact with Jonny by pm and always found Easy's postings to be spot on Earlybay but never met him. Great guys willing to be doing a job I turned down when Mr Earlybay moved on, not something I had the time or inclination for. And that was before we had anything other than good honest people posting common sense comments, helping, meeting up etc.

I understand why a couple of mates don't bother any more.

Have a good time elsewhere. If you check back here you'll hopefully find we are back to the old ways. I am sure you'd be welcome..
