I was under the engine, with it running and noticed lots of 'hot air' blowing from the heat exchanger connectors on the exhaust silencer itself, is this normal? Yes, I realise I have not got heat exchangers on my van! I always thought though the air was only heated by the exhaust not propelled by it too? Have I got a hole inside my exhaust?

Thanks for your thoughts..... :D

I would say I am running NO J tubes or Heat Exchangers! Neither are visible!!

That doesn't sound right?!

Just checked, yep just got J tubes.

The 'hot air' blowing is actually from the bottom of the other connectors on the round thingy at the top of the back box which would normally connect to the heat exchangers if I had any! Should it be blowing as hard as the exhaust itself?

Thanks.

so you still have the hoses from the fan housing plumbed in yes?

If so you'll be getting a massive amount of air exiting through the exchanger couplings its this air that on stock exchangers passes through to the cab as your warm air.

Most people remove the hoses and block the holes in the tinware and fan house.

If I were you I'd also check for the connection to the hot air pipe as its obviously not in use and get it capped.

Yep, hoses still connected. So capped off the fan housing connection etc....

...still got loads of hot air blowing around under the engine?!

Any ideas?

Yep thats where it seems to be coming from....so its all good.

Thanks for your wisdom.
