There are a lot of 'kits' available from various reputable VW parts suppliers.

I have a couple of spare 30amp relays and was considering fitting one as a hot start. Any advice?

Am I right in thinking that the kits are just standard 4 pin (normally open) relays of a given ampage, e.g. 30 amps? All be it supplied with a specific 'relay connector' for the wiring. However, its just a standard rely at the end of the day isn't it?

Thanks George, what ampage? I'm thinking that 30 might be a little excessive, perhaps 15 or 20 instead?

I'll see if I can find a copy of my wiring diagram from here - if not I will have to take a look tonight

Realise it doesn't have the amperage, but should identify which relay to use.
I have mine with a separate fuse (they're cheaper and easier to find than a new relay).

I will check the amperage tonight if you want?

Cheers guys, feedback is very much appreciated, i will pop down to the local motor factors and pick up the relay and fuse. I will go with an in-line fuse as well, like you say they're easier to source/replace (and cheaper).
