Hi all got alittle problem i have a dorma with a 1641 engine with alternates. I can run round in it with no problems all day on short to medium runs but as soon a I go on a long run if I stop then it won't start it just clicks but it bumps ok , leave it 10 mins and it's starts fine the starter has been refurbish fitted a new earth strap all connections are clean and tight.

I've seen a hot start relay but I'm poo with wiring does anybody do a plug and play and would this fix my problem

Also I need a split charger can you get a unit to do both as that would really neaten things up under the lid cheers Phil

When you say all connections are clean - have you taken them off to ensure you have good metal-to-metal contact at the starter / earths / battery?

You basically don't have enough current when hot cranking - have you measured the voltage whilst trying to turn it over? It could be as simple as the battery isn't kicking out enough juice and needs replacing.

I'd start with these first as they're free to do.

Hi pal thanks for the comments. Yes I've taken it all apart all clean and tight and the battery is not that old and seems ok I can leave it for weeks and it starts straight up but I will go and get it tested to rule it out cheers Phil
