Bought these last September as my Birthday present you get a good deal if your buying 4
Fantastic quality better than OG imo & now I'm a convert. :D

Has anyone got any tips on how to stop them spinning off, (I've lost 2 somewhere in Cornwall)

...anyone tried slightly deforming them to make them fit tighter ?

use quality rivet clips (Wolfsburg West are by far the best, i have used, never lost a hubcap) for one.

If your using original spring clips theyre probably shagged out by now and need replacing.
Got mine from C&C and are spot on. You wont lose a hubcap if gou get a set from there.

Aside from worn or bent clips, the vast majority of cheap repro wide 5 hub caps are not deep enough around the edge, so they dont sit correctly on the clips. Try fitted those hupcap bands behind, wont work. Not you need top quality hub caps, maybe those stainless ones are deeper, or look out for some OG ones. I have managed to source a few which i will use in the summer, in the meanwhile, i watch the cheapo ones rust away...

If i get chance today (ish) I'll take pictures of a cheap hubcap, and a OG one. Also, the weight is much more, a cheapo is around 300g, and OG type one 500+

Cheers,

Alistair

aren't they late bay wheels? I don't think they have any rivet clips on anyway do they?

That is rough for 5 months lol hope you didn't pay a lot for them!

Hi Shiplee,

Thanks for pointing them out, and they are not too far away to collect...

They are different to my current caps, is it save to assume the Ebay ones will fit...?

(Mine weigh in at 415g - I have no idea if they are OG or not...)

Ebay

Those eBay ones at the bottom are the flatter ones for late bay rims - the top are iirc baby moons and for wide 5 not narrow rims - that being said I had a set of baby moons on my late wheels without an issue (took a few whacks with a mallet to get them on)
