Hello everyone,
I refitted my engine on saterday after painting the tin ware and putting on twin 40dcnf carbs.
Well i spent all day monday trying to start her up to no joy just a little back fire now and again,
So I done a static timing on her so it should have been just about right give or take a few degrees, But still nothing  Checked the tappets perfect. Petrol was getting to the carbs so i took both carbs off to check if they were ok they looked good no blocked jets.
So I put here back togather again still no joy just the odd back fire
and then i noticed the back fire smelled like paraffin then i remembered I had 1 can of petrol and 1 can of diesel in the garage. So I emptyed the tank and put so fresh petrol in and drain the carbs, and hey presto it fired up and sound lovely. ( And I felt like a right twit)
