68 Bay ignition chamber slightly temperamental, every now and then there is no start when the key is turned. Both red lights come and then nothing. A quick wiggle of the key and we come good. Ignition barrel is 6 months old so I'm guessing wiring connections, I've look for loose connections and also given them a wire brush down. A part from that maybe the barrel is goosed if so how does the barrel come out? Is it punched out from the other side.....

Many thanks

It could be your ignition switch that's had it, a £25 part, the part behind the actual key barrell, have a look here..

Try this link ( http://www.specialpatrolegroup.co.uk/spooky" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) this should give link to various vw repairs including ignition switch removal . I had same problem , replaced switch electrics and key switch ,sorted.
