Hi,

The last few times I go to start my bus, I turn the key, the oil and gen lights come on, the just a 'click ' not a repetitive one like it's trying to start, just a single. I take the key out, give it another couple of go's and eventually fired up as normal.

I've had a look at the starter, the contacts were a little corroded so cleaned them up but to no avail. I'm guessing next step is the ignition switch?

It looks like a spiders nest behind there so was a little reluctant to take apart!

Any ideas about what I should be looking for or even where I should be looking??

Thanks - leccy gremlins are the worst!!

The click is the sound of the starter solenoid trying to engage - I would say that it is not always making it fully home and completing the circuit. Whip the starter out and get it rebuilt / buy new and you should be sorted.

We had exactly the same problem

Could be a worn ignition switch. We changed ours but still the same
Changed solenoid. Still the same

Then mechanic fitted a hot start relay and an additional earth - Bingo. Starts on the nail every time.
