My indicators suddenly speeded up and then I saw a wisp of smoke coming from under the dash and the indicator lights on the dash now stay on permanently. What could be the problem?

I had a look at the relay and its a metal cylinder bosch one, VW part number 211953183A. Can't see it for sale on VWHeritage or JK websites...

Which one do I get?? :? Its for a 68

If yours is the 4 pin type I would go for the one on vw heritage site

16 Indicator relay,12v, 8/68-7/70 4 terminals
[211-953-215/C

The problem could be that or the hazard light switch has gone.If you take the cover off the relay you might see or smell the evidence of burning.

Mine is a 68 which means it doesn't have hazard lights at all.

It has three terminals on it and has 12V2x21W written on the side of it. The three terminals are labelled "31", "S" and "+"

Found the one you need on vw heritage (411-953-183) - NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE
