Iits funny how insurance companies change,
I've just renewed with Cherised found them to be a good price and they knew their vehicles. Last year they wouldn't insure me because it was a pick up and still classed as a commercial vehicle. This year they would, a few years ago the PO said how the van was in their advert advertising their insurance he rang for a quote but they couldn't insure it.

My last years insurance company wouldn't reinsure me unless I parked my van in the garage! I live in a quiet cul de sac.

Had to laugh rang another so called specialist company told them what I had 1962 vw split screen crew cab pick up and she tried telling me they didn't make one, then when it came to the value of it sh said "why is it worth that much." didn't stay on the phone for long.

Just insured mine with Cherished, cheapest and very helpful.

I use Footman James, comes with European breakdown cover and agreed value that you can self certify (up to 15k).

I'm with Footman James as well, and I've renewed for this year. The renewal quote came back £5 cheaper than last year

I think I am the only person in the world whos insurance is going down :D

I use a local broker. They have done a really good deal for me. The Cherished policy I was offered didn't cover me for use to and from work. Whilst this isn't a deal breaker for most, there will be the odd occasion when I want to take the bus to work, so I opted to go with my brokers recommendation. Slightly more but gives me better cover.

Just tried to get a quote from Cherished, and they would not insure me because I want to do more than 5000 miles a year in the bus. Didn't even get as far as discussing modifications. Crap

Another one here for RH

Cherished got a bit narky as my other car is also under a classic policy but I do have access to my inlaws 'modern' car.

I'm with Heritage insurance, as they'll cover me being parked on the street.
Cherished didn't wanna know....sort it out.
TBH I think a car parked 2 foot from either end of my bus and a f*cking great camber in the road is a better theft deterrent than a driveway anyday!

Got a good price as well for a LHD daily driver on 5000 miles

RH was a very good price, but won't do a agreed value. Suggested I get an independent valuation and keep that on file should any thing happen. Have others done this?

Who does these valuations and how much as if it costs me £ then I might aswell just knock down my current insurers door?

Joy Sat morn on phone to insurance companies....
