Hi

Just wanted to check that my bus is in fact a 68. It has the same features as the feature van which is a 67 (the USA Westy from Keift & klock) which made me think mine might be earlier but when I checked the VIN the first 3 digits are 238 which means if I'm correct a 68.

Can someone verify this??

Cheers.

Its a 68 model year, but may well have been made in 67. The rest of the chassis number will be an indicator, but also there may be a date also stamped in the chassis plate - a number and two digits or two letters, something like 24 D ?

:)

yes - if you look at the number bottom right on the m-code plate (behind drivers seat LHD, passenger for RHD ..) it should read something like ...

8123456 - meaning year (8=1968, the next six digits are the build no. in the year, eg. 123,456)

Hi

Volkswagen production years ran Aug to Aug as they still do now. A 68 would start poduction in late August 67 through to Late July early Aug the following year.
