i'm sure this will sound like a stupid question ...... but, i've got a leisure battery with split charge and a leisure battery cut out to stop the battery running down by the inverter (i thought this was the riught thing to do?) ... anyway, in order for the split charge to charge the leisure batery do i need to have the cut out switch turned on while driving? or cna it charge while off??

cheers.

Do you have a wiring diagram of this cut-out switch?

A split charge relay will automatically isolate the vehicle battery from the leisure battery/circuit with the ignition off (well engine not running, if wired in the usual way). So you shouldn't need a cut-off switch.
