I'm in need of a definative answer.
Which wire should I tap into to connect relay terminal 86 to when wiring a dynamo to split charge a leisure battery.

Dynamo wires.

Note the terminal with a spare connection is marked B+.

think I connected mine to the spare terminal you mentioned (middle picture). Get hold of a voltmeter and check that this terminal reads 13 volts or above with the engine running - should increase as you rev the engine.

I connected mine via a voltage sensitive switching relay to the leisure battery - only cost about 12 quid and switches charge to the leisure batt when voltage exceeds an amount which can be adjusted.

Source fo this item was Towequip I believe - a caravan supplier.
