Anybody got any advice on LHD insurance?

Just tried cherished and got knocked back because its a lefty and the only official experience I have is a few hire cars in Europe.

Just tried just kampers online too, and I'm waiting for a call back because they won't do it online.

Have I just agreed a price on a van that I can't insure?

I had the same problem being a first time lefty driver. I went with Adriam Flux as they were fine with it. Once my year is up, I'll shop around again and hopefully have more options.

Loads of peeps on here drive leftys, shouldnt be a prob! Mines with JK and dont think they had any issues with it! ;)

Carole nash for me mate and they include home start breakdown etc..

Just done mine, first time insured lefty and camper and all in £175 and its parked on my drive!

I had the same problem , first lhd owned .

RH insurance sorted me out & have continued to be the cheapest three years running .

My brother is also insured through them for his Bedford CA , he couldnt find anyone to beat there quote either .

:D

Im with Carol Nash too, with agreed value and AA cover included £157. 5000 limited mileage.
Prior to this i was with Adrian Flux.
If an insurance company has a problem with LHD,,,they are the ones with the problem as there are plenty of insurers out there who will take your business.

Some are picky with first year LHD insurance - had the same problem last year. Peter Best sorted me last year, lots of the usual suspects didn't want to know

Funnily enough, it's no problem to drive far more powerful RHD on the continent - at least in the bus they should be confident that I won't be trying to overtake anything :msn4:

All sorted with jk in the end.

I just had a mild panic when some of the big names told me to do one.

I thought I had a good deal until I saw mark and dazza's! I'm on £277 for me and the wife plus can drive any other car, agreed valuation, bugger all excess, and a load of other stuff that I can't remember. Sill happy tho. :D

Am surprised any insurers have made an issue of the LHD, am shocked and horrified that some appear to have refused cover. Have never had that problem myself (using Heritage, bloody brilliant)
When insuring any vehicle, if it is LHD then usually a small premium applies, as far as I know.

First year lhd cali import . Adrian flux 3000 miles max. Kept in garage. Cant quite remember but around £150

All bar one of my buses in the past 15 years have been LHD and it has never caused as much as a question? The only problem I had this time round was the modifications? When I listed them, most companies said there were too many mods. Cherished sorted me out.

Footman James classic policy for me, no probs at all and pretty cheap. Also my first left hooker and they didn't even question the fact.
