I've painted up the badge in the original "cloud white" which I'm well happy with, so I'll order up some 2pk for the wheels & bumpers now :D

You got the fans running as yet?? If so do they kick out much air, have got some but not hooked em up yet ;)

The fans work great - I suppose the real test will be when I'm sat in our blistering heat we're going to expect in the summer

 Another BBQ summer eh!

Hi Spence,

My name is Ryan and I used to own NUB593F. I have recently started to track the van down after looking through some old photos as I'm interested to see both where it is or if its still alive. I posted a thread on Volkszone and and was directed to your thread here. I can see that you are looking after it very well and have given it lots of TLC which going on your pre resto pictures was very much needed. It wasn't that bad when I sold it by the way. Anyway If you would like some more info on it then please feel free to contact me via Email [email protected] and I will tell you what I know about it. By the way it was a Kombi with both bench seats when I had it and always was untill that time as far as I'm aware. The Devon camper interior was a later addition.

Look forward to hearing from you

Ryan.

This must be the longest restoration in the history of long restorations

Anyways, work, money & time etc.... keep getting in the way but I have built the engine!

Well chaps, this has been the longest, drawn out restoration project I've ever done and guess what - It still isn't finished!!!!!

I've had the buddy seat re-trimmed using an old red '66 Bug seat which has worked out great....

I've also built up a 1641 lump for it.....

and fitted it.........

I've just got to get a back box as the tuck away exhaust I bought doesn't fit with heat exchangers!!!

Well, I've now had a complete change of interior plans for the '68. We're now expecting another little one, so a tin top bay just isn't going to be big enough for two adults, two kids & a dog............

I found this little lot on flea bay.....

The '68 is now going back to being a Microbus just like VW intended :D

Found myself a nice little ceramic mondo exhaust on flea bay for less than half price :D

Now you see it......

The sound great, I can't wait to see what it pulls like :D

Little bit of an update, I've finally got the wheels & bumpers painted. Now I've just got to find the time to fit them

I've been allowed out the garage to play today, so I've built up and fitted the rear bumper........

I've also built up the front bumper but I'll have to wait for a dry day so that I can open the garage door to fit it......
