Sometime I wish I had gone through all the work on my van as rough as you're doing it.
You really seem eager to get it on the road eh?
But you're doing a hell of a jonb on a bus that most would've written off.
How much you got it for on ebay?

Well, actually I really do mean it in the best possible way !
Really, I'm always nervous and unsure wether I'm doing it ok and I wanna get my repairs done as perfect as possible, thus wasting a lot of time.
Whereas some people just go over it like a tasmanian devil and this seems to work great aswell!! Nothin' but respect fo that! certainly no disrespect!

hi all. cheers for the comments. i think its taking ages to do
i enjoy the welding but dont like the filling part.
i know its not going to be a show winner,i just wont it solid
and safe. the bottom of van will be last to paint as i will
try to get sides as straight as poss.
i do spend all my spare time on the van,
every day doing sumthing,i do enjoy it tho.
i taxed it the other day for another year
its a lot harder than i first thought
still finding more welding or things to do
i gave 1800 for tha van off ebay.and it had 7 moths mot 4 month tax
apart from the dodgy brakes it ran nice. i drove it home in the state in first pic.
thers no rush for tha van but i do want it finished by nxt summer to use
still to get are rust free doors and new windsceen.
my first time going to this amount of work so still learning as i do it

Inspiring thread!
You can learn so much from lookin through these awesome resto threads - I'm sure its a bit of hassle to keep posting the updates, but it is very much appreciated!
Cheers welshbay - superb work, looking forward to seeing it finished! :)

cheers for the reply. im learning as im going. not as easy as i first thought
it seem to go on & on,il take & post more pics over weekend.

It's coming on alright dude.As you said it's much harder than it looks, especially removing chunks of filler, fibreglass etc and you're left with a big hole wondering how to attack it.But once you get going it's not too bad is it? And like you I enjoy it also,it's very rewarding when you've achieved something.

had to scrape off loads more thick black underbody shultz
looked awfull.found loads of holes for welding also
loads off sealer stuff hiding holes and plates not welded tidy
so off with all them bad bits and new metal in.
gearbox out now and shafts out for now gaitors
and paint, also repaired heater channel thingy
