It is indeed a 1955, basically a bog standard 1776 with stroker crank

Well not updated this in a while so I thought I would bring the thread up to date,

Had an pretty good summer, did not get as much usage as I would like but still managed to get a few trips away and had a few dramas as usual. First up though was a minor modification and got some chrome BBT Sprints to replace my flat fours. HMMMMMM

well that was a stupidly long update, well done anybody who made it to the end without being bored to death. Changes are not afoot and some exciting updates to follow.

Pete

Cool as ever Pete , Got love for the sunroofs , Is that Pauls in last couple of pictures ??

Looks real cherry mate are the rear BBT 's 4.5" or bigger

Very nice Pete, bus looks awesome as usual, was down there for 2 weeks in August weather was *****, looks like you got some nice sunny days :D

Sam, rears are 5.5 fronts are 4.5.

Grazy it is indeed Paul's bus.

Nice, I take it they bolted straight on excluding some spacers to allow the centre caps to fit.

Lovely update :D
Really need to do one too
Good to see that not being used much seems to have travelled a fair bit of ground to 8)

rocker clip was a bugger though, boltup shafts are definitely a wonderful thing!

Where were the beach pics taken Pete?

Bedruthen steps, I think that's how you spell it, just outside Newquay, one looking out to see is crantock beach and one in fist real car park.

Thanks for the comments more updates to follow in a couple of weeks when some further work is complete.

I think this is the only one I have close up. Will get some more when the bus is back.

Sparkywig. They are slowly trying to change it. They are quite rigourous with stag and hen do's and have banned certain fancy dress items but it will take a while to sort properly as they let it get really bad.

So as ever the lowering bug had been further nibbling away at me and so I thought I would take it one stage at a time as there were several things I wanted doing. so I figured I would do them one at a time. The bus was taken to Evil Bens in Cornwall a earlybay member and friend, godbus ( Paul Aucott ) now works there.

So the bus arrived and in true style several things wrong were found with it before the work was even started,

So several small jobs were sorted out such a new steering idler pin, repair to one of the mounts on the engine case which had threaded. and a couple of other things.

Also decided to get sorted the one rust hole on my bus which I had been meaning to sort for 18 months and never got round to it

So whilst the engine mount was being sorted I was talked into having the engine support bar modified whilst it was out, then following some hard sell, an engine and gearbox raise was sold to me. Not got many photos of the raise but here are a couple of the engine support bar and underneath

So then with the budget blown I was then sold that the front should be notched. Health warning here, images of MAN NOTCHES are attached

so then I was told that to make the most of these then this had to happen,

The previous owner had tubbed just the drivers side of my bus so now at least both sides will be done

So it went into have maybe some tubs or something and ended up with

Engine and gearbox raise
modified engine support bar
Man notches up front
Tubbed arches.

Work still ongoing was going to wait until i got it back for the update but following arrival of the photos i got far to excited and could not hold it any longer ( a common problem in my life )

Another long update but more exciting than the last. Cant wait for the next instalment

Pete
