Happy new year to you too!!!
You might get a job to do if you call in next week!!!!
Ian's away in Benidorm & I'm on me own!!!!!

Cheers :D
I like it!!!
Infuriatingly it's prob the easiest one I've had to fix of the last 3-4 buses, but ive skinted myself buying it so I can't crack on with it!!!!

We'll see what February brings ???
January is just **** all round!!!!

Hi Lee. Was good to see this a couple of weeks ago - looks good in the flesh.

(Cheers for importing the westy awning, I had it up in the garage the other weekend and its really sound.)

D

Well I've got all (?) the panels for the crewcab now!!!!
Time to make a start I reckon!!!

Couple of random pics before I steam in ,

A 1971 parking permit on the front bumper.

And a view of the front in the reflection on a T5 I just done!!

Right I'll stop pi**ing about now & get some work done!!!!

Right!!!!
A disclaimer!!!!
I'm no welder!!!
I repeat I'm not a welder!!!!!

Ok??

I've asked a couple of local vee dub garages for quotes on the welding, while I'm waiting for their replies , I thought I'd make a start myself!!!!

How hard can it be!!!!??? :?

Lower front panel, chop it out weld a patch in, easy!!!!!

Hmmmm!!!

I sprayed everything with weld thru zinc primer.

Including the patches I made!

The back bit went a bit holey too!!

Then I started the inside, I have ground the welds down a bit more since this pic, but it's very hard to get into it!!

I'm working my way along the inner front panel!

That's all for now !!
I think my welding is getting a bit neater??? :? ??

Cheers!!
Hopefully only 2 more patches to make & fit, till I can make & fit the panel I was after replacing in the first place!!!!

All was going well till I got a bit rust in me eye

Anyway,

We had company this week at work! 8)

Either mines too high or Matt's is too low???

There were a load of little rust pin holes along this bit of the front panel which I filled with weld, my mate , a panel beater, came & set the welder up better than I had it!!
Seems a bit easier now!!
Apart from my eye still watering like mad!!!!

Started the other side.

Slow process this!!!!!!!!!!

Welding looks right! I reckon a few hours of messing about and you get into the swing of it - I've not got that far yet so mine still looks like *****! haha.

Love your bus - the signwriting is cracking.

Long as its strong enough mate that's all that matters, I'm sure you can make it look good enough with your bodyshop powers!

Looks good mate.

Matts bus is lush as well.

I've just sold my welder as don't need it anymore, now I know who to come for if I need any work!

I spent all day Saturday on it, well apart from getting a customers car out & doing about a dozen estimates!!!
Think I might need to start locking the doors on a Saturday???

It's amazing how much gear you need out!!!

Last little piece in the bottom.

Then the big inner piece, going to do it in 2 sections.

1 more patch to do, then the outsides to do!!!! :D

Hi Lee, good to see that you're making progress. This welding lark isn't as easy as people make out - so your your doing a grand job there. Hope you're waring some goggles now....

Yeah I got some new goggles, like scuba mask style this time, so the grind can't sneak around them!!!!!
