Well I had good intentions today!!!
But by the time I picked a customer up from the ferry , gave him his camper back, done 3/4 estimates, booked them in, a few people came in to see what I'm doing & generally have a chat!!!!!!
I only managed to make one more patch & cut another bit out!!!!

Away to Manchester for Stone Roses gig tomorrow then,
I have something on every night next week & next Saturday I'm helping ( read, doing it all) my friend fit a new wooden floor in her horse wagon!!!!! :?
Soooooooo, next time I get owt done on the truck???????? :google: ??????

Got a bit done done today,,
I made a couple of patches & screwed them all in place ready for either me or my mate to weld next week!!

Also the other bit floor panel (& some Chinese sunglasses that Carry the warning"not for use in direct sunlight ") arrived earlier in the week, big thanks to Andy from Spike's vintage
restorations!!

I had half an hour spare whilst waiting for paint to dry tonight!!
So , I chopped the sill out, trimmed the new one & offered it up.

Looks canny with the door shut !!!

Not quite as pretty with it open!!!

I think the lip is about 6-8 mm too wide?????

What do you think??
I've been sent a few pics of other people's buses on Facebook, they've all been repaired, but none look like the lip is as wide as this!!???

Despite not finishing the last bit, I've started the next bit :party0021:

It always worse before it looks better, right!!!!!?????

Despite not finishing the last bit OR the bit before that !!!!!!
I've started another bit!!!!

Right before I get ahead of myself,

My mate started welding the front floor in the other night, but we ran out of wire, today I ground the welds down.

As I say, this bit still needs welding to finish, but it's getting there!! :D

Right, this next bit looks a bit extreme!!
But , it all needs doing so,,,,,

:?

I've almost finished cutting the repair panels to size.

This bit us going to be a bit tricky I reckon!!!!!!!!!

Looks better already??????!!!!!! 8)

Reet!!!!
It's getting very confusing now :? :? :? !!!!

I need to make this bit!!!

This is the start of it!!!

Rightly or wrongly, I'm trying to save this thin slither of metal to make my gaps look more factory!!???!

Beginning to feel a bit out my depth!!!
I started this side as the other side was beyond me just now!!!
This dude is just as complicated

Anyway, off to Volkspower this weekend to drink beer !!! :party0041:

 cheers John!!!!
If your REALLY bored, check out my other builds!!!

I'm at the point in this project that I've been at with all the rest now!!!!
It's show season, all my mates are using they're buses & I'm stuck grafting on mine!!! :(
Looks like it's next years toy now!!!
Never mind!!!!

It'll be cool once it's finished!!!!!

Spurred on by my recent trip to Volkspower!!!

I've spliced & rewelded the bit B pillar panel I'm using.

Welded by my own fair hand after a pep talk from a ssvc mate at the weekend!!

I then cut a bit panel for the 1/4 panel.

I've saved (hopefully) a bit of the original panel either end so I don't lose the seam.

I'm hopefully going to tuck it behind the original panel a bit!!

Sill sitting a little too low ???

That's better!!!!

This where I'm at now, just clamped into place so I know everything can fit!!!!

However, it's all the inner C pillar bits that need to go in first, to get them in I need to chop the remaining rusty bits out!!!
This runs the risk of the door gaps going all to pot!!!!
I may need to brace the shell????

Thanks Reeto, I'm not looking forward to all the fiddly little patches I'm going to have to make next like!!!!!

Little bit done today!!

Door step bit.

Cab floor prepped!

& zinc primed.

Inner C pillar repair patch.

Inside bit.

Done!!!!

Other side welded, still a bit more to make like!!!!

But it might have to wait till after my holiday now!!!
Don't think the truck will see the shows this year :( never mind!! :)

Back from my holiday now!!
Managed a good half a dozen hours today!!

1/4 panel (?) piece needs welding from the inside yet, then the sill, then the floor ????
Hope I'm doing it right???
