Another few hours today, not much noticeable difference mind !!! :(

Welded the inside of this panel.

Made this little bit,

Got 3 panels lined up to do floor edge,

But I decided to tackle the massive floor patch first !!!
Then I ran out of gas

Well I eventually managed to afford some gas!!!!!£95!!!!!!

Got the big floor patch in, it's welded all round the 3 sides, overlapping by about an inch all round , so do I need to weld it all round underneath too????
Or can I just seam sealer it?????
What do you guys do???

Next big patch zinc primed.

This where it's going to go.

Sill mocked up AGAIN

I got a lend of this bad boy!!

Nice neat strong spot welds, on bits of scrap metal at least!!!!
Can't get it to play ball on the sills though 8)
So I gave up!!

Just going to plug weld these instead!!!

Hopefully this lot is all clamped & screwed into position for the last time, ready to weld one night this week?????

Cheers marra :D

1 hour welding 3 hours dressing the welds tonight, wish I knew how to do this welding malarkey a bit neater  !!!

Door is sticking out at the bottom a bit now, think floor patch need a 1-2mm trim???

Still fetteling & finishing to do, but looks a bit better now!!!!

Started out well today!!!
But eventually turned to ****!!!!! :x

First job, took 5 minutes!!!!! :D
Got the door to line up better by grinding a thin piece of the patch!

Much better!! :D

Then I moved inside to sort out a bit I gave up on the other day!

Ended up cutting the bottom of the pillar altogether!

Replaced abut floor under too!

Made anew piece,

Welded it in.

Ground all my welds & primed it all!

Next bits to do,

This bit I welded a few rust holes up, but it's not right so needs a patch in!!

Then it all went horribly wrong :(

I started picking at a few welds from Monday nights session!!
& they just hadn't penetrated properly!!

So I had to cut it & start again, I think I worked out it was the angle of the torch wasn't right when welding first time round??

Also when I cut the patch this morning to align the door, it cut all my welds on the edge, so I redid them too!!!

All in all a **** of a day resulting in another late finish this week!!!!!!!
Onwards & upwards, hopefully!!!!!!
I must be going to get the hang of it soon, Shirley???????

Just read it all - nice cab and some nice work going on
Regarding your welding, when grinding the welds down, be careful that you don't grind the metal away also - this will mean you end up with .5 mil or less metal and it will be easy to split!

Keep on with it and come next summer all will be good :)

Yeah I'm learning by my mistakes!!!!!
Sometimes it goes great, other times I really struggle to get it to work!!!
I'm blaming the welder !!! :fighting0038:
I've got some good tips off Mr Sparkywig & others when I put a rant up on Facebook about it!!!!
Looking forward to getting the hang of it!!!!!!
Also looking forward to doing the shows in it next year !!!! :rocknroll:

Reckon we might actually have 3 working bays next year?

And whatever Gav has bought at the time

Bit more done yesterday afternoon,

Also been playing with the spot welder!!!!

Towbar from Gadget should be with me soon , also got some much better fire walks off Rusty heading my way too!!!!

Good work Lee, seems to me like you're doing thorough job... just went back to page 1 to remember how it looks without seeing concrete through the floor. Yip, should look good again when you're done.

Cheers bud, getting there slowly!!!
MASSIVE MISTAKE made lately!!!!!!
Some dipshit got sidetracked & forgot to turn the gas off & it leaked out & I had to replace it again already!!!!!
Doh!!!!
Expensive mistake I won't be making again!!!!!

Well I've eventually got a bit time on my truck today!!! :D
You'll have to take my word for it though as photobucket is being a knob!!!!!
