My previous car - sold to fund my new bus

My previous project of 8 years was picked up today by the winning bidder on ebay - sad after spending so much time/effort/cash to see it go:

But looking forward to finding a bus and can't wait to start working away on it!

Anyone else changed projects to fund their bus??? Or have you always been into them?

ta very muchly 8) - wanted to go for that smooth hot rod type look so no tat like door mirrors spoiling the lines - loving the work others are doing to their buses, want to try for the same look!

Yep been there, sold this a few weeks ago after owning it for 20 years.

to have some money to play with the bus

so for have bought cab doors, tailgate and a slider, lowerd the van and got a new set of wooden garage doors so that the van can live in the garage.

i sold my fully restored 69 westy when our son was born nearly 2 years ago(long story, my wife was in hospital 3 months,lost interest in the bus) then had a change of heart, imported 2 microbuses on the hop, then found imported my westy i found on the american interweb

so had a long over due clear out and brought a BUS with 12months MOT ... and still spent a fortune on it :roll:

I havent had to sell a car as such, but have had to selll a **** load of car parts to fund my disk brakes!!

sold this years back to buy a more sensible car when i was renovating my house. you cant shift much rubble in a bug
i am still despirate to find it and buy it back

and i had to let this go when the bus came a long. £1500 which was then handed straight to alan schofield and vw heritage for panels. i too miss it when the weather gets good. i dont however miss comuting into nottingham on it every day through the winter. i had to scrub it about three times a week
